We made a new friend while installing our project in downtown Grand Rapids. We'll call him Marcus. Marcus quietly sat nearby, seeming not to notice what we were up to, occasionally making conversation with a soft-spoken woman who had earlier been giving us her thoughts on Christie Brinkley's age-defying beauty, and the movie Ghostbusters.

After a long afternoon of assembling and securing metal pipes and elbow fittings, and then anchoring the frames to two 15 gallon water jugs using ratchet ties, we were finally ready to attach the photo banners.
The hours passed quickly. We were prepared with extra zip-ties for any do-overs -- and yes there were do-overs. As the sun began to dip below the tall evergreens near the edge of the Common, we raced to finish in time to step back and take a final look at our handiwork.
To our surprise, Marcus suddenly chimed in: "I've named you two Mr. and Mrs. Perfectionist!"
We laughed! This moment brought us back to earth, out of our focus bubble, realizing we'd had a captive audience after all. "Ha!" we replied in unison, "thanks for noticing! We're flattered!"
